Avoid the hassle and buy a different player for basic dvd playback. It keeps saying the disk is loading, but it never starts playing the disk, no matter what you do. After reading a number of reviews on sites for the mega electronics stores such as Best Buy and Circuit City, it looks like this problem is very common. I've had good luck w/ Toshiba players. No wonder the warranty is only 90 days. I bought the SD-4100 for my mom. My first one lasted at least 8 years, and my current one has been doing okay with great picture quality. After about six weeks, it flat out stopped working.
It also sucks because it does not display the time when playing a disc i have had this dvd player for less than 3 months and its broken already.
Description needs to be corrected. Bought item based on description stating DivX Compatible. Well if that is what you're looking for keep looking, Delivered today, repacked and being returned.
Wish me luck. After a little more than a month of light, gentle use, it stopped working completely. Now I have to try to get a refund. This is a terrible DVD player. It didn't work particularly well for the first 36 days, but at least it worked.
BOOOOOOOOOOO Since I do a lot of stop and go watching, this DVD player is not working well for me. This DVD player would have been fine if it only had auto resume. This means that when I turn off my DVD player and turn it back on, you lose the position of whatever you are watching.
